Nonprofit organization behind the B Corporation movement honors leading utility-scale renewable energy project developer.
OneEnergy Renewables, a leading developer of utility-scale clean energy projects across North America, today announced that it was named Best for the World in both the environment and worker categories by B Lab, the nonprofit organization behind the B Corporation movement. OneEnergy Renewables received the Best for the World award in 2015, as well.
To achieve these distinctions, OneEnergy Renewables – which has been a Certified B Corporation since 2011 – underwent B Lab’s B Impact Assessment, a process that scores companies based on how they impact their communities, the environment, workers and customers. OneEnergy Renewables earned worker and environmental impact scores in the top 10 percent of all other Certified B Corporations.

The Best for the Environment category “measures the environmental impact of a company’s facilities, materials, resource and energy use, emissions, and transportation and distribution. It also looks at how a company’s products or services address an environmental issue.”
The Best for Workers category “measures how a company treats its workers through compensation, benefits, training and ownership opportunities, internal communication, job flexibility, corporate culture, and worker health and safety practices.”
