PORTFOLIO
Bringing fresh innovative energy to each site and community
This project provides enough electricity for approximately 1,800 households. Local power generation helps build resilience into the electric distribution system by limiting risk of outages and allowing faster restoration of service. Local power sources lead to less dependency on energy imports and more energy independence.
Now that Silver Lake project has completed, the land has a dual use, as a pollinator habitat and solar panel site. Prior use of the land included the planting of corn. It includes a low-growing perennial pollinator meadow and by planting dense perennial vegetation beneath and around the solar panels, it provides ecosystem services associated with pollinator benefits and reduced stormwater runoff compared to regularly tiled farmland.
