The site ties into the existing distribution system along Zachow Road to continue to provide electricity to local customers. Before the project, the land was used to grow rye. The project will transform the area into a low-growing, perennial pollinator meadow, covering all parts of the array area except for the access road. By planting dense perennial vegetation beneath and around the solar panels, the project provides ecosystem services associated with pollinator benefits and reduced stormwater runoff compared to regularly tilled land.  

Commercially operating in 2024, the project produces enough electricity for approximately 1,950 average Wisconsin residences.
