Donated Solar Panels Installed at Colby School District’s Football Field

November 18, 2024

Through the Solar Panel Donation Program, OneEnergy offers a donation of solar panels and funding to assist with installation costs to a school located near a solar project that is currently under development or construction. Colby School District held a ceremony  for the energization of a 5kW solar installation donated through this program on November 4th, 2024. This donation is connected with Popple Creek Solar, a 2 MW project that was constructed last year and is located about seven miles west of Colby School District in Clark County, Wisconsin. Ten solar panels were installed next to the concession stand at the Colby Football Field, a location that Superintendent Patrick Galligan selected to increase visibility of the solar installation for students and the community. One of the Solar Panel Donation Program goals is to educate students about renewable energy and related career opportunities, and the ground-mounted array provides an opportunity for students to see solar panels up-close and learn about them.
